It is readily formed in the annealed condition and may be subsequently heat treated. It has a melting point of about 500 degrees celsius or 932 degrees fahrenheit. With its high strength and excellent fatigue resistance it is used to advantage on structures and parts where good strength to weight ratio is desired. Alclad is a corrosion resistant aluminium sheet formed from high purity aluminium surface layers metallurgically bonded rolled onto to high strength aluminium alloy core material.

If mfg test reports are required there is a minimum 15 00 charge per order. It is readily machined to a high finish. Alclad is a duplex metal product made by cladding an aluminum alloy core with surface layers of pure aluminum or aluminum alloy resulting in increased resistance to corrosion. No guarantee against scratches is possible due to the handling required to cut sheets to sizes shown.

Cutting charges range from 20 to 50 or more depending on sizes desired and number of cuts. We can cut standard sheet sizes shown in the table to special sizes but special order cutting charges will apply. Charge is higher if more than 5 items. Alclad is a trademark of alcoa but the term is also used generically. From this trade name the adjective clad and the verb cladding have been derived.
